About the role#
The Multifamily Division at Freddie Mac is looking for interns to support technology initiatives and strategic objectives. You will work on real-world software development projects while building technical and professional skills. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, test, and support applications that contribute to the company mission.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to software development projects that drive business and technology outcomes.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Collaborate with software engineers, business partners, and project teams in an Agile environment.
- Use AI-enabled tools to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and enhance software quality.
- Troubleshoot issues and work on performance improvements for scalable solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with one or more programming languages, such as Java.
- Experience with class projects, hackathons, personal projects, or open-source initiatives.
- Familiarity with modern software development tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time internship.
- Compensation: This position is paid at a rate of $32 per hour.
