About the role#
The Multifamily Capital Markets Analytics & Engineering team acts as the technical arm of the Capital Markets business. You will work on the myOptigo vision, which involves modernizing how data is sourced and automating financial execution workflows. This internship focuses on building production-grade tools, prototypes, and data pipelines that support securitization and credit risk transfer platforms.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain automation solutions for securitization and credit risk transfer workflows.
- Model, curate, and engineer data products using Python and Snowflake.
- Use AI-enabled developer tools to automate coding tasks and improve development efficiency.
- Implement and test deterministic rules engines where precision and strict controls are required.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Apply software engineering practices such as version control, testing, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of May 2028.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and database design.
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with SQL.
- Experience with hackathons, personal coding projects, open-source initiatives, or technical class projects.
- Interest in fixed-income finance concepts.
- Ability to communicate with both business users and software engineers.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or AWS is a plus.
