About the role#
The Internal Audit division at Freddie Mac is seeking curious and analytical individuals for a Summer 2027 internship. You will work at the intersection of business, technology, and risk management. This role focuses on providing independent assurance over governance and internal controls. Approximately 70% of your work will involve automation and technology-enabled auditing.
What you'll do#
- Support high-impact audit engagements that evaluate key business processes, risks, and strategic initiatives.
- Use data analytics, AI tools, and automation techniques to improve audit effectiveness.
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with professionals across business, technology, quantitative risk, and operational audit teams.
- Contribute to the development of recommendations and insights for management and stakeholders.
- Participate in efforts to automate audit activities and enhance existing processes.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Interest in data analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, risk management, or auditing.
- Experience with or exposure to data analysis tools such as Power BI, Python, or SQL is preferred.
- Understanding of business processes, technology, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong curiosity, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively.
