About the role#
We are looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Coopersville, Michigan. You will report to the Process Engineering Manager and work on projects that support real-time business issues. This role focuses on solving complex problems, generating new ideas, and developing your technical skills within a global manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Calculate production, labor, and material costs to assist with manufacturing decisions.
- Review production schedules.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize information to prepare product and process reports.
- Answer engineering-related questions and requests.
- Collaborate with hardware and power teams to understand system architecture and design constraints.
- Create mechanical design concepts using mechanical tools.
- Assist with designing mechanisms to improve installation and serviceability.
- Run experiments and tests to optimize mechanical systems.
- Build and test prototypes with the team.
- Diagnose failures in prototypes or assemblies and provide recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering or related degree program at an accredited university.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others.
- Self-motivation, time management skills, and a high energy level.
- Demonstrated leadership and team orientation.
- Ability to drive for results and work effectively under pressure.
