    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Albany, New York, to gain hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing. Every intern is assigned a project that delivers direct value to the business, with an expectation to apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methods throughout your work.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop new or modified processes for the fabrication and evaluation of semiconductors.
    • Collaborate with group engineers to propose criteria and formats for hardware and process evaluations.
    • Compile, analyze, and present experimental data to your team.
    • Create and revise standard operating procedures and document tasks for future reference.
    • Determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications by analyzing test data.
    • Assist in the interpretation of physical and chemical behaviors during process characterization.
    • Gain familiarity with semiconductor processing techniques through literature review and hands-on learning.
    • Complete safety training to allow for supervised work in the process lab.
    • Prepare and present a final project report at the end of your internship.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, Nanoscience, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
    • Experience with Statistical Design and Analysis of Experiment methods.
    • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment with hazardous chemicals.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

    • Location: Albany, New York.
    • Term: May 17, 2027, to August 20, 2027.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Physical requirements may include working in clean room environments, confined areas, or high places. You may be required to lift or carry objects up to 35 pounds and use personal protective equipment when working with chemicals, electricity, or mechanical parts.
