About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering Co-op position based in Hollis, New Hampshire. The role is for the Winter 2027 term, requiring 40 hours of on-site work per week from January through June 2027. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Work on a variety of medical products, including home health wearables, therapy systems, and surgical robotics.
- Conceptualize, investigate, and develop innovative product architectures, mechanisms, and assemblies.
- Create robust design solutions using CAD software.
- Assemble and test prototypes to inform design decisions and demonstrate performance.
- Collaborate with industrial design and electrical teams to produce successful product designs.
- Develop assembly and test tools, and document procedures and test results.
- Present design value, tradeoffs, and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year accredited university studying Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Status as a 2nd or 3rd year co-op student with applicable experience in mechanical design.
- Demonstrated skills with SolidWorks.
- Basic machine shop skills, such as using a mill or lathe.
- Experience designing, setting up, running, and documenting experiments in a lab setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to produce freehand sketches.
- Familiarity with engineering simulation software such as MathCAD, Excel, FEA, or CFD.
