About the role#
This Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Co-Op position is based in Orangeburg, South Carolina, for the Fall 2026 term. Reporting to the EHS Manager, the student will work on technical projects that support real-time business operations while developing professional skills in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Investigate incidents and provide guidance to reduce and prevent future occurrences.
- Perform surveys and sampling techniques to verify that safety controls are effective.
- Manage metrics related to sustainability and certifications.
- Support the EHS team in managing environmental permits, including air, waste water, storm water, and spill prevention.
- Participate in and provide support to the Emergency Response Team.
- Interface with engineering and facilities personnel regarding safety matters and escalations.
- Assist with annual or key review projects for the site.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related science field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A technical background with a business-oriented focus.
- Excellent communication skills and a highly collaborative, creative approach.
- Previous internship experience is considered a plus.
