About the role#
Figma is hiring software engineering interns for the Winter 2027 term. You will be embedded into a small engineering team, working alongside a mentor and teammates to build real features, tools, or systems. We pair interns with teams based on their specific skills and interests, ranging from product development and platform infrastructure to security engineering.
What you'll do#
- Join a team and contribute to projects that align with current goals.
- Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to plan and build features.
- Write, document, and maintain code, tests, or infrastructure.
- Participate in peer code reviews and share feedback.
- Ship your projects by the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Experience writing clean code in at least one general-purpose language such as C++, JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- A solid grasp of core computer science concepts, including data structures and algorithms.
- Experience solving technical problems through school, work, or personal projects.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions.
- An interest in learning, receiving feedback, and growing as an engineer.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based on-site in San Francisco, California, or New York, New York.
- The internship term is Winter 2027, with a start date of January 4, 2027.
