About the role#
The Early Career Externship in Human Capital provides hands-on experience within Fifth Third Bank. You will integrate into the organization by supporting day-to-day activities and project-based initiatives. This role involves working as a team member on larger projects while also handling smaller tasks independently. You will gain exposure to key Human Resources functions, specifically within compensation, data validation, and total rewards programs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project-based initiatives and provide support for compensation and total rewards programs.
- Perform data validation and cleanup tasks.
- Support system and process integration activities.
- Prepare documentation and reports related to merger efforts.
- Manage and report on the status of your assignments using project management skills.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide daily support for compensation activities.
- Build a professional network within your division and across the bank.
- Solve routine problems by following defined procedures.
- Complete assigned coursework and participate in self-learning.
- Manage your own time to meet established deadlines.
- Perform all work in accordance with safety procedures and communicate effectively with others.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising Sophomore or rising Junior in an accredited degree program.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Major in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for future employment-based sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the capacity to learn new software.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Relevant internship or work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, show initiative, multitask, and manage your time effectively.
- Professional customer service skills for responding to internal and external requests.
