About the role#
This co-op position provides practical experience in corporate accounting. You will work with experienced professionals on month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reporting, and finance transformation. You will gain hands-on exposure to how a large financial institution operates while contributing to team goals.
What you'll do#
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
- Complete assigned projects and tasks as directed by leadership.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions.
- Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
- Build a professional network within your division and across the bank.
- Complete required coursework and self-learning modules.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- Status as a rising sophomore, junior, or senior.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Willingness to learn new software applications.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
