    About the role#

    The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York provides undergraduate students with ten weeks of professional experience. This program focuses on project-based work and professional development within the Statistics function. You will join a cohort of students and receive support from an experienced mentor while gaining insight into the public and financial services sectors.

    What you'll do#

    • Support the capture, quality assurance, and analysis of financial and organizational data.
    • Conduct data analysis and visualization to assist with client outputs.
    • Collaborate with students and employees across the bank on various assignments.
    • Participate in professional development activities and learning events with senior leadership.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate sophomore with an expected graduation date between Winter 2028 and Spring 2029.
    • A strong academic record with an interest in Statistics, Finance, Data Science, Economics, or Business Administration.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with Tableau, PowerBuilder, Python, and R.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

    • Location: New York, New York.
    • Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position for Summer 2027.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship based on an annual salary of $65,600.
    • Eligibility: Access to confidential information requires U.S. citizenship or status as a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
