About the role#
This internship supports the Federal Reserve System's research and development regarding the future of money and payments. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to understand the implications of new technologies, including digital currency, tokenized assets, smart contracts, and ledger design. This role provides exposure to how a central bank supports the U.S. financial system.
What you'll do#
- Interface with stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System and the Board of Governors.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as Legal, Audit, Finance, and Procurement, to identify and address project risks.
- Design process improvements to increase team efficiency.
- Build reports to communicate project status to senior management.
- Support agile delivery methodology, including PI planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in graduate or undergraduate studies in fields such as Political Science, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities.
- A high level of self-motivation and the ability to work well in a team.
- A working knowledge of the Federal Reserve System, fundamentals of finance, or technology development is helpful but not required.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May/June to August).
- Modality: This position is full-time and on-site.
