About the role#
The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is hiring for a Research Internship for Summer 2027. This full-time, paid position offers students exposure to the operations and mission of the Federal Reserve System. Interns work on projects that support the Research Division, which provides economic research and information for policymakers, educators, and the public. You will participate in a dedicated mentor program, network across the Bank, and attend development-oriented sessions.
What you'll do#
- Research data sources and methodologies for macroeconomic data series.
- Compile anecdotal information from business contacts.
- Create charts and tables of economic indicators.
- Conduct statistical and econometric data analysis.
- Write summary reports on your methodology and results.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student, with a preference for rising juniors or seniors.
- Bachelor’s degree candidate in economics, business, finance, or a related field.
- Overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Strong proficiency in math or statistics.
- Excellent skills in Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- An interest in monetary policy, macroeconomics, and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.

- This internship is located in St. Louis, Missouri.
- The position follows a hybrid work model.
- The program runs for 9 weeks, from June 7th to August 6th.
