About the role#
The Supervision and Risk Management (SRM) internship offers a 10-week professional experience within the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. You will contribute to the stability of the financial system through quantitative and qualitative projects. This role involves working across several teams within the SRM division.
What you'll do#
- Conduct financial analysis and review compliance with laws and regulations, including consumer protection standards.
- Evaluate statutory factors related to processing bank applications.
- Provide recommendations to improve the use of internal websites and automated tools.
- Present oral and written findings and assessments to management.
- Assist with bank examinations, which may require travel.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student with a graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028, or current enrollment in a graduate program.
- Academic focus in finance, accounting, economics, or a business-related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site with 5 days of remote work flexibility per month.
- Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
- Screening: This role requires specific background screenings, including credit and criminal history checks, due to access to confidential supervisory information.
