About the role#
The Supervision and Risk Management (SRM) division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City offers a 10-week summer internship for students interested in the nation's financial system. You will work on various projects ranging from quantitative analysis to qualitative reporting. This is a paid, full-time position based in Denver.
What you'll do#
- Conduct financial analysis and review compliance with laws and regulations, including consumer protection standards.
- Evaluate statutory and other relevant factors related to bank applications.
- Provide recommendations to improve internal websites and automated tools.
- Present your findings and assessments to Bank Management in oral and written formats.
- Travel for bank examinations and to the Kansas City headquarters for onboarding and offboarding.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student graduating between May 2027 and May 2028, or a current graduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a business-related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.

- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $22.00 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time with 5 days per month of remote work flexibility.
- Note: This position requires access to confidential supervisory information, which is limited to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and lawful permanent residents who meet specific eligibility requirements. The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
