About the role#
This co-op position supports the Federal Reserve System in researching and developing the future of money and payments. You will work on projects involving digital currency, tokenized assets, smart contracts, wholesale settlement services, ledger design, and cryptography. This role operates within a multi-disciplinary team that includes finance, government, business, engineering, and law.
What you'll do#
- Interface with stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System and the Board of Governors.
- Collaborate with internal departments like Legal, Audit, Finance, and Procurement to identify and address project risks.
- Design process improvements to increase team efficiency.
- Build reports to communicate project status to senior management.
- Support agile delivery methodologies, including PI planning and execution.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in government, politics, business, economics, finance, law, or engineering.
- Excellent project management capabilities and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- High level of self-motivation and the ability to work as a team player.
- A working knowledge of the Federal Reserve System and the fundamentals of money, banking, and finance is preferred.
- Experience with technology development, coding, or big data is a plus.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to July 2027).
- Modality: This position is primarily on-site. Employees are expected to reside in the First District.
- Employment type: Full-time paid co-op.
