    About the role#

    The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking a Community Development Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Cleveland, Ohio. You will gain practical experience by contributing to projects focused on affordable housing, workforce development, and small business access to credit. You will work alongside experienced professionals who provide mentorship and guidance throughout the program.

    What you'll do#

    • Apply quantitative and qualitative research methods to analyze economic and community development programs.
    • Gather data from various sources and manipulate datasets using tools like Excel, STATA, R, and Python.
    • Draft content for online and written publications and briefs for internal and external audiences.
    • Support the team with outreach efforts, public programs, and events.
    • Participate in workshops and training sessions designed to build your professional skills.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Studies, or a related field.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0 and at least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
    • Experience collecting, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
    • Strong writing, interpersonal, and technical skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Cleveland, Ohio (On-site).
    • Term: Summer 2027, spanning 10 to 12 weeks.
    • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
    • Compensation: Hourly rate between $20.50 and $26.00, depending on background and experience.
    • Requirements: Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening. Employees must comply with specific bank ethics rules regarding financial holdings.
