About the role#
As a Student, IT, you will gain hands-on experience across various technology disciplines. You will contribute to data and cloud-based solutions while supporting operational initiatives that help employees work effectively. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects and day-to-day activities to deliver secure and reliable technology solutions.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of technology solutions, applications, and services.
- Assist with analyzing technical, operational, and security requirements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technology issues, security events, and system performance concerns.
- Work with data tools, integrations, visualization platforms, and analytics technologies to assist with data and cloud-based solutions.
- Prepare, configure, deploy, and maintain technology equipment, software, and assets.
- Manage technology lifecycle activities such as software updates, technology refreshes, inventory tracking, and documentation.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, technology specialists, and business partners.
- Provide customer service by supporting end users and contributing to team projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a diploma or bachelor's degree program in computer science, information technology, business, or a related field.
- Strong interest in technology support, end-user services, and learning new technical skills.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and common software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems and identify practical solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in clear language.
- Customer-focused mindset and a commitment to service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Interest in learning about cloud-based data environments and development practices.
- Previous experience in customer service or technical support through work, school, or volunteer activities is an asset.
- Exposure to data, reporting, or visualization tools, as well as audiovisual equipment or collaboration tools, is beneficial.
