About the role#
Family Health Centers of San Diego offers nursing students the chance to gain practical experience in community health care. You will work under direct supervision to support an assigned department as a learner. This is an unpaid internship focused on your professional development and exposure to patient care.
What you'll do#
- Perform a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for clinic patients.
- Complete duties as assigned by your rotation and clinic site.
- Support your assigned department while learning about community health care practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited school for a nursing or public health degree or certification.
- An interest in community and public health care.
- Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

- The position is on-site at various clinics throughout the county.
