About the role#
Encova Insurance is hiring an Actuarial Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based in either Columbus, Ohio, or Charleston, West Virginia. You will work a hybrid schedule, with some days spent in the office each week. This internship provides exposure to pricing, underwriting, data analytics, and reserving through support for our Product or Corporate Actuarial teams.
What you'll do#
- Develop rate indications using standard actuarial practices.
- Review rating plan components with internal profitability data and competitive analysis.
- Prepare rate filings and coordinate with state insurance departments.
- Validate large account pricing models.
- Assist the Product Actuarial unit with pricing indications for large accounts.
- Execute, maintain, and expand management reports and analytics.
- Conduct reserve reviews using traditional property-casualty estimation techniques.
- Extract, merge, validate, and maintain transactional datasets.
- Assist in preparing reserve summaries.
- Field routine service and research project requests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours.
