About the role#
The Quality Engineering Intern supports lithium-Ion cell and battery pack production. You will be assigned a specific project and receive mentorship from a member of the Quality Team. This role involves technical support in areas including calibration, data analysis, defect reporting, inspections, and document control.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing design of experiments, testing, and data collection.
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections and document the results.
- Assist in process optimization studies and work with manufacturing engineering to implement approved process changes.
- Write and maintain work instructions, inspection forms, and process maps.
- Assist in the management and analysis of production data such as test data, Pareto charts, and yield data.
- Support 8D problem-solving efforts, calibration, and non-conforming material activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety and conduct.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering, preferably at the Bachelors or Masters level.
- Availability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite, specifically MS Excel, for data management and analysis.
- Willingness to learn the use of inspection equipment such as 3D scanners, SEM, and optical comparators.
- Strong attention to detail and good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 40-pound loads several times per day.
