About the role#
The Quality Engineering Intern supports lithium-Ion cell and battery pack production. You will receive mentorship from a member of the Quality Team and complete an assigned project. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Candidates must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing DOE, testing, and data collection.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections while documenting results.
- Assist in process optimization studies.
- Write and maintain work instructions, inspection forms, and process maps.
- Support 8D problem solving, calibration, and quality improvement activities.
- Assist with the management and analysis of production data, including test data and yield metrics.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area through daily 5S.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety and conduct.
What you'll need#
- Working toward an engineering degree, preferably a Bachelors or Masters, in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, for data management and analysis.
- Willingness to learn how to use inspection equipment like 3D scanners, SEM, and optical comparators.
- Good verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 40 pound loads several times per day.
