About the role#
The Quality Engineering Intern supports lithium-ion cell and battery pack production. You will be assigned a specific project and receive mentorship from a member of the Quality Team. This role involves technical and engineering support in areas including calibration, data analysis, defect reporting, inspections, and document control.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing design of experiments (DOE), testing, and data collection.
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections and document the results.
- Assist in process optimization studies and work with manufacturing engineering to implement approved changes.
- Write and maintain work instructions, inspection forms, and process maps.
- Support 8D problem solving, calibration, and quality improvement activities.
- Assist in the management and analysis of production data, including test data, Pareto charts, and yield data.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area through daily 5S practices.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety and conduct.
What you'll need#
- Working toward an engineering-related degree, preferably a Bachelor's or Master's.
- Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, for data management and analysis.
- Willingness to learn how to operate inspection equipment such as 3D scanners, SEM, and optical comparators.
- Strong attention to detail and good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 40-pound loads several times per day.
- Must be a lawful permanent resident or U.S. citizen.
