About the role#
The Litigation & Advocacy Partnerships team is looking for a part-time intern for the spring 2027 term. This role supports the team in assessing partnership goals and building internal capacity for long-term relationships with community-based organizations. You will work under the supervision of the LAP Director or Deputy Director to help staff engage effectively with community partners and environmental justice initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Work with legal and policy staff to support projects that connect teams with community partners.
- Plan and coordinate stakeholder engagement activities related to legal and advocacy efforts.
- Track and organize national, state, and local conferences and events.
- Support the Quarterly Partnership Speaker Series by preparing materials and assisting with event coordination.
- Conduct research and draft summaries on partnership trends and advocacy strategies.
- Assist with the development of training materials and learning sessions focused on community lawyering and environmental justice principles.
- Provide general support for LAP initiatives, including writing, preparing presentations, and managing content.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in law school as a 2L or 3L for spring 2027, or a graduate program with an expected graduation between May 2027 and May 2028.
- Strong research, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- A deep interest in public interest law, social justice, and strengthening relationships with environmental justice communities.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Background in fields such as environmental engineering, political science, sociology, or public health is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position based in the United States.
- The role requires a commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week for a 12-week period.
- This is a paid internship.
