About the role#
The Northeast Regional Office is looking for two part-time legal externs for the winter 2027 term. This position is unpaid and requires you to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement through your law school. You will work 10-20 hours per week for a duration of 12-16 weeks.
What you'll do#
Working under the supervision of a licensed attorney, you will assist with ongoing cases. Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting legal research to support case development.
- Participating in case team meetings.
- Observing strategy sessions and decision-making processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a 2L or 3L student in a law school during spring 2027.
- Eligibility to receive academic credit or fulfill a graduation requirement.
- Strong writing, research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with legal research tools like Westlaw.
- Ability to work both independently and collegially.
- Knowledge of environmental and administrative law is a plus.
Location & details#
This role is hybrid, based in the New York, NY office. Candidates may also work remotely within the United States.
