About the role#
This is a full-time internship or co-op conversion role for Summer 2026. You will work on-site at a Combustion Turbine facility, supporting the daily operations and maintenance of equipment systems. This position requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Monitor equipment performance through testing and analysis.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibration of plant equipment.
- Follow approved procedures for start-up and shutdown.
- Adhere to all location safety procedures, including red tagging and personal protective equipment.
- Perform inventory duties and handle responsibilities with minimal supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, or Business Administration.
- A valid driver's license.
- Familiarity with emergency procedures.
- Experience with maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Successful completion of EEI's Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS).
- Ability to pass a medical physical, including a respirator fit test, and a Power Plant Physical Abilities Assessment.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around equipment that generates electromagnetic fields.
- Compliance with a 325-pound weight restriction for the safe use of weight-rated equipment.
