About the role#
This is an entry-level position within the Cybersecurity and Operational Technology (OT) team. You will work under supervision to support the cybersecurity program for operational assets, ensuring compliance with enterprise requirements. This role involves maintaining digital systems and responding to security threats to protect critical infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Support the cybersecurity program for operational assets at generating stations.
- Respond to cybersecurity threats and events.
- Perform maintenance activities including patching, system upgrades, and antivirus protection.
- Manage cyber asset inventory and security baselines.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Cybersecurity Program by revising documentation and participating in security projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Previous internship or co-op experience with Duke Energy.
- Experience with technical aspects of multiple digital technologies, operating systems, and network protocols.
- Working knowledge of network architecture, firewall security, and the configuration of cybersecurity appliances.
- Understanding of cybersecurity processes and their impact on generating systems.
