About the role#
The Data Analyst intern joins the Dow Jones Data Management team in New York City. You will support projects involving data insights, engineering, and transformation strategy. This work helps the company meet its strategic goals across consumer and professional information brands like The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, and Factiva. This is a full-time, hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with customer-facing report deliveries for both existing and ad hoc requests.
- Interpret data trends and work with stakeholders to explain the dynamics behind the numbers.
- Build and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards using tools like Adobe, Tableau, or Google Analytics.
- Apply quantitative analysis and data exploration techniques to understand how users interact with our products.
- Support the end-to-end use of technology, including data pipelines, models, algorithms, and visualization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program with at least 2 years completed in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Computer Engineering, or Economics.
- Basic fluency in SQL or Python and knowledge of relational databases.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, specifically with advanced formulas and functions.
- Experience with data analysis and problem solving involving large, diverse datasets.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrated curiosity for finding patterns and insights in data.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure like AWS/S3 and hands-on coding experience are considered a plus.
- Ability to work full-time from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.

- This internship is based in New York City, New York.
- The program runs for 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
