About the role#
This is a summer 2027 internship based at the North Anna nuclear facility. You will work with the Maintenance Support Engineering group to develop maintenance strategies and troubleshoot mechanical equipment. This role involves direct interaction with Operations and Maintenance personnel.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot mechanical components such as pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
- Support refuel outage planning for motor operated, air operated, and check valves.
- Perform field work including internal inspections of valves and heat exchangers.
- Assist with valve and pump packing.
- Gain exposure to vibration monitoring.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited Bachelor degree program for Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A graduation date of fall 2028 or later.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Professional ethics and a team-oriented mindset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired.
