DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Student Teaching Assistant for courses MUS-220/220L and MUS-221/221L under the direction of Bruce Stark. This position runs from August 24, 2026, through April 23, 2027. The role requires 10 to 20 hours of work per week. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Please note that students may not work during any time they are scheduled for a class.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom with course assignments, software, and hardware.
- Set up and operate classroom and studio equipment, such as running slide decks.
- Facilitate student presentations and take attendance.
- Pre-grade submitted coursework and assist with grading outside of the classroom.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty adjustments.
- Provide mentorship to students and meet with them outside of class to answer questions.
- Track and report all hours worked.

- Comfort interacting with peers on an instructional level as a mentor.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington, USA.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.13 – $18.25 per hour, depending on the number of terms worked at DigiPen.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, with occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The role is generally 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
- Residency requirement: Student workers must reside within the state of Washington.
