About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is hiring a Student Teaching Assistant for the course ANI-399, 2D II, The Illusion of Life. This position supports the instructor and fellow students during the Fall 2026 term. You will help maintain a productive learning environment by assisting with classroom operations and providing mentorship to students.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor with equipment setup and operation, including managing slide decks during lectures.
- Provide constructive feedback and draw-overs for students to help them improve their animation work.
- Answer student questions during labs and scheduled office hours.
- Perform grading and assessments outside of classroom hours.
- Submit attendance sheets and track your work hours.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and the instructor to support course needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Successful completion of ANI-398 and ANI-1000 with a grade of B+ or higher.
- Proficiency with course material, including a strong understanding of the 12 Animation Principles and staging.
- Strong 2D drawing skills and comfort with software such as Toon Boom Harmony or TV Paint.
- Ability to communicate professionally and mentor other students.
- Reliability and the ability to work independently.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Redmond, Washington.
- The term runs from September 3, 2026, to December 4, 2026.
- You will work approximately 10 hours per week.
- You must reside in Washington State to be eligible for this role.
- Students are not permitted to work during their own scheduled class times.
