About the role#
This position supports the CS-180 Operating Systems course taught by Ethan Hall during the Fall 2026 term. The Teaching Assistant works closely with the instructor to facilitate classroom activities, manage grading, and provide academic support to students. The role requires an average of 3 hours of work per week. Employment runs from August 31 to December 2, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Attend a majority of one of the scheduled class periods (Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 to 10:20 a.m.).
- Assist students during lab sessions and scheduled office hours.
- Grade programming homework assignments and quizzes.
- Track and report hours worked regularly.
- Assist the instructor with classroom tasks, such as equipment setup, facilitating presentations, and other requested duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Successful completion of CS-180 with a grade of B or better.
- Good academic standing and not currently on academic warning.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs, with the role requiring approximately 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Modality: On-site only. Students must reside within the state of Washington.
- Compensation: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on the number of terms worked at the institution.
- Note: Students are not permitted to work during any time they are scheduled for a class.
