Dewberry is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Fairfax, Virginia. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on project experience and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world civil and municipal engineering challenges. Interns participate in professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project conducted alongside firm leadership.
What you'll do#
- Work on all phases of civil and municipal engineering projects.
- Assist with water and sanitary sewer design tasks.
- Help local, state, and regional clients address water and wastewater challenges.
- Engage in professional development workshops, including career planning and self-assessment sessions.
- Collaborate with other interns and firm leaders on a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in CADD is a plus.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour, depending on experience and market conditions.
