About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in the Virginia Beach, Virginia office and offers hands-on experience with project work, technical skill development, and professional networking. Interns will work alongside full-time staff and firm leaders on meaningful assignments.
What you'll do#
- Work on water resources engineering projects.
- Assist with water quality and wastewater modeling tasks.
- Participate in drainage design, stormwater management, and floodplain delineation projects.
- Collaborate with team members to address engineering challenges.
- Engage in professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of water quality modeling, wastewater modeling, and water quality regulatory issues.
- Knowledge of floodplain delineation, stormwater management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
