About the role#
Dewberry is looking for a Site/Civil Engineering Intern to join our Danville, VA office for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on projects for commercial and government clients, including residential, industrial, and capital improvement site development. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with site and civil development tasks, such as grading, roadway, and storm water management design.
- Support erosion and sediment control design.
- Collaborate with design teams to produce detailed construction plan documents.
- Conduct code research and help prepare specifications.
- Participate in the summer intern program, which includes professional development workshops, networking events, and a group project.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Water CAD, and Storm CAD is a plus.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
