About the role#
Dewberry is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our office in Leesburg, Virginia for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position where you will gain hands-on project experience by working alongside our professionals on real-world engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Work on grading, roadway, and storm water management systems design.
- Assist with water and sanitary sewer design, as well as erosion and sediment control design.
- Conduct research on local codes and permitting requirements.
- Write technical specifications.
- Prepare and submit permit applications.
- Participate in professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program for Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with Site/Civil engineering practices.
- Proficiency using CADD and Microsoft Office software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
