About the role#
We are looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern to join our Richmond, Virginia office for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid internship where you will gain hands-on experience by working on projects similar to those handled by our full-time staff. You will help local, state, and regional clients solve water and wastewater challenges while developing your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Work on all phases of civil and municipal engineering, including water and sanitary sewer design.
- Participate in professional development workshops, including career planning and self-assessment sessions.
- Collaborate on a summer-long group project that addresses future firm strategy alongside our leaders.
- Network with other interns, staff, and senior leadership across the business.
- Apply your classroom knowledge to real-world engineering tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program for Civil Engineering.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A desire to work in a team-based environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in CADD is considered a plus.

- Pay: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
