About the role#
Dewberry is looking for a Landscape Architect Intern to join the Site/Civil department in Lanham, Maryland, for the summer of 2027. You will work on projects for commercial and government clients, ranging from residential and industrial site development to capital improvement projects. This is a paid, full-time internship where you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to real project work.
What you'll do#
- Perform site and civil development tasks, including grading design.
- Prepare detailed landscape and hardscape plans.
- Create layout, yield, and parking studies for commercial and residential sites.
- Develop design documents for construction plans as part of a project team.
- Prepare development plans to support rezoning or special exception applications.
- Conduct code research and write specifications.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Landscape Architecture.
- Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Sketchup, Illustrator, GIS/ArcView, and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour.
