About the role#
Dewberry is hiring a Surveying Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Daphne, Alabama. This full-time, paid position involves joining a survey crew to perform boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and construction surveys. You will gain hands-on project experience, participate in professional development workshops, and work on a summer-long group project alongside firm leaders.
What you'll do#
- Assist the field supervisor with daily crew workload tasks.
- Follow all safety regulations and work in a safe manner.
- Maintain and ensure the safekeeping of survey equipment.
- Keep vehicles supplied and organized for daily duty.
- Work on projects involving land development, transportation, and transmission lines.
- Participate in company networking events and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, GIS, or Planning.
- Strong mathematical and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a driving record check.
- Physical ability to work outdoors on construction sites in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods and work overtime as required.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus, as is previous internship experience.
