About the role#
Dewberry is looking for a Transportation Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Transportation Group in our Roanoke, Virginia office. This is a full-time, paid internship that provides hands-on experience through project work, workshops, and networking events. A housing stipend may be available for eligible candidates.
What you'll do#
- Work within a team on transportation engineering design projects.
- Design horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Manage drainage systems, stormwater, and erosion and sediment control.
- Develop maintenance and protection of traffic schemes.
- Prepare contract plans for various clients and project types.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation.
- Experience with CADD software, specifically MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A desire to work in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience in transportation is preferred.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour.
