About the role#
Dewberry is hiring Site/Civil Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our Site/Civil department in Richmond, Virginia, to work on projects for commercial and government clients. This role involves residential, commercial, and industrial site development, along with capital improvement projects. You will work on design teams to create construction documents and gain hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Design site and civil developments, including grading, roadways, and storm water management systems.
- Create erosion and sediment control designs.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Research codes and write project specifications.
- Obtain project permits.
- Participate in workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program for Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
