About the role#
Dewberry is seeking Site/Civil Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. Based in our Richmond, Virginia office, you will join our Site/Civil department to work on projects for commercial and government clients. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in site development, including residential, commercial, industrial, and capital improvement projects. Interns participate in professional development workshops, networking events, and a summer-long group project focused on firm strategy.
What you'll do#
- Perform site and civil development tasks, including grading, roadway, and storm water management systems design.
- Design erosion and sediment control measures.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop construction documents.
- Conduct code research, write specifications, and assist with permitting processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.

- Compensation: $18.75 to $29.75 per hour.
