About the role#
Dewberry is seeking Site/Civil Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. Based in the Richmond, Virginia office, this role supports the Site/Civil department on projects for commercial and government clients. Interns participate in hands-on project work, professional development workshops, and a summer-long group project alongside firm leadership.
What you'll do#
- Perform site and civil development tasks, including grading and roadway design.
- Design storm water management systems and erosion and sediment control plans.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with design teams to create detailed construction documents.
- Conduct code research, draft specifications, and assist with permitting processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
