About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term to join the Transportation group in Charlotte, North Carolina. This internship provides exposure to several engineering disciplines, including roadway, structural, and drainage design, as well as traffic engineering and transportation planning. Interns receive a tailored training program and engage in hands-on project work similar to that of a full-time employee. The program also includes professional development workshops, networking opportunities, and a summer-long group project.
What you'll do#
- Develop and evaluate engineering solutions.
- Prepare design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and drawings.
- Assist with various studies and document results.
- Adhere to assigned project schedules and budgets.
- Write internal communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in transportation.
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
- Experience using CADD software, such as Microstation or AutoCAD, is preferred.
- A desire to work in a team environment.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion.
