About the role#
Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in the Charlotte, North Carolina office and involves working on residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects. Interns will gain hands-on experience, participate in professional development workshops, and contribute to a summer-long group project focused on firm strategy.
What you'll do#
- Perform site and civil development tasks, including grading and roadway design.
- Design storm water management systems and erosion and sediment control measures.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Work within design teams to develop detailed construction plans.
- Conduct code research, write specifications, and assist with permitting processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
