About the role#
As a Student Custodian, you work under the direction of the Facility Manager or Assistant Facility Manager. You maintain school facilities and perform grounds work according to district guidelines. This role includes minor maintenance tasks for both the building and equipment.
What you'll do#
- Clean, dust, sweep, and vacuum floors and surfaces.
- Empty trash from classrooms, facilities, and grounds.
- Remove graffiti, gum, and other markings.
- Check and verify facility security by locking doors, windows, and gates.
- Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Perform limited grounds work, such as snow removal and sweeping walkways.
- Assist with moving school items, distributing supplies, and installing furniture.
- Prepare facilities for scheduled events.
- Coordinate with school staff, students, and the community.
- Assist with routine preventive maintenance tasks.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Denver Public Schools student between the ages of 14 and 18.
- You must maintain a permanent home address in Colorado.
- You must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
- You should lead for racial and educational excellence, working to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity while supporting all students.

- The position is on-site and full-time.
