About the role#
This position is open exclusively to current Denver Public Schools student teachers. As a Guest Teacher, you fill in for your teacher of record. You will follow provided lesson plans and manage the classroom to ensure a productive learning environment. You may need to adapt to different subjects or grade levels based on classroom needs.
What you'll do#
- Follow lesson plans to maintain continuity for students.
- Organize the classroom to support effective instruction.
- Manage student behavior to keep the environment positive and safe.
- Motivate students to participate in their learning.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the school principal.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently completing your student teaching within Denver Public Schools.
- Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) substitute authorization or a teaching license (initial or professional).
- Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain a permanent home address in Colorado.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
- A commitment to educational equity and supporting all students.
