About the role#
As a Student Custodian, you will work under the direction of the Facility Manager or Assistant Facility Manager. You will help clean school facilities and perform grounds work according to district guidelines. You may also perform minor maintenance tasks on equipment and facility systems.
What you'll do#
- Clean, dust, sweep, and vacuum floors and surfaces.
- Collect and empty trash from classrooms, grounds, and facility areas.
- Remove graffiti, gum, and other markings from surfaces.
- Check and verify facility security by locking doors, gates, and windows.
- Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Perform limited grounds work, such as snow removal or sweeping walkways.
- Assist staff with moving school items and distributing supplies.
- Assemble and install furniture or equipment.
- Prepare facilities for scheduled use.
- Assist with routine preventive maintenance tasks.
- Communicate and coordinate with school staff, students, and the community.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current student between 14 and 18 years old.
- Students aged 14-15 require an age certificate completed by their school.
- Provide one positive reference from a current teacher or school leader.
- You must maintain a permanent home address in Colorado while employed.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
