About the role#
The New Ventures, Technology & Innovation (NVTI) area at Deloitte focuses on identifying, shaping, and incubating new business opportunities. As an intern on the D71 strategy team, you will help leadership determine where to place bets, how to evaluate potential ventures, and what evidence is required to advance or stop an opportunity. You will work across emerging domains and active ventures, combining market intelligence, strategic analysis, and business-case development to support portfolio choices.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on structural market shifts, emerging technologies, and business-model disruption to identify venture domains.
- Build market landscapes, competitor profiles, ecosystem maps, and white-space assessments.
- Support the development and testing of venture theses, including value propositions and paths to scale.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, such as revenue-pool assessment, unit economics, and financial modeling.
- Design validation activities like expert interviews, customer discovery, and hypothesis testing.
- Prepare decision-ready materials for stage gates, portfolio reviews, and executive forums.
- Monitor active ventures against strategic, financial, and market indicators.
- Partner with founders, product managers, engineers, and finance leaders to advance strategic work.
- Use AI-enabled research tools to assist with sensing, diligence, and synthesis.
- Manage discrete workstreams with clear plans, milestones, and follow-through.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in-progress in business, economics, finance, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, liberal arts, or a related field.
- Ability to travel up to 10% on average.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Preferred: Minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Experience with market analysis, financial modeling, or strategy projects.
- Preferred: Exposure to start-ups, venture capital, or innovation environments.
- Preferred: Hands-on fluency with generative AI tools.
