About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education and practice skills to real-world scenarios. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role is designed to prepare you for future Pharmacist responsibilities by deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and quality assurance.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures to help pharmacy teams manage patient health.
- Assist with prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off tasks.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and medication deliveries.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and controlled substances.
- Deliver health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
