About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. You will gain hands-on experience in store operations while supporting the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Support patient health by offering immunizations and other services.
- Counsel patients, field medical questions, and collect medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify orders.
- Maintain inventory through cycle counts, returns, and stocking.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
