About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves gaining experience across store, district, and regional operations while working under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service and contribute to a safe, inclusive culture.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and returns.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations, where permitted by law and training.
- Remain flexible for scheduling needs and travel to other store locations as required.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service (preferred).
- Ability to become immunization certified (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (preferred).
