About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice while preparing for a future role as a Pharmacist. You will work under the guidance of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations as you assist the pharmacy team in delivering patient care and maintaining smooth operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service to patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and returns.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines where permitted.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete training within the designated timeframe.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between pharmacy duties.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills for solving problems related to prescription dispensing.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.

- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
