About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you work under the direction of a preceptor. You will assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and help deliver patient care services.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details as allowed by state regulation.
- Assist with inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
- Support immunization services by preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and problem resolution abilities.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, reach overhead, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.

- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
